Acorn Bags

I think my vintage cruiser that I salvaged from my Grandparent's shed may need one of these next summer.

A Love for Scandinavian Home Design

I have a love for Scandinavian design, and this house is one I could definitely live in. I saw these pictures floating around the web, and desiretoinspire had a post dedicated to it. Apparently it belongs to a family of five, where the mother knits, and the father is a carpenter. The colors are so calm and neutral, and it has a great rustic feel to it. Here is the pictures via a Finnish website called ellit.

Uusi Advent Calendar

I came across this beautifully designed advent calendar @ decor8
Having lost a lot of my excitement for the holiday season through working in retail jobs at Christmas during my student days, I love coming across things that make me excited about it again. This advent calendar by Uusi a Chicago based design studio.

Turkey leftovers have never been so sexy

Usually by about two days after thanksgiving I am completely tired of the usual Thanksgiving flavours that come along with your run of the mill turkey leftovers. Fear no more though, thanks to Jamie Oliver I have found a bevy of delicious looking recipes to make next week after I attend 2 turkey dinners (which is tame compared to the 5 I attended between Thanksgiving and Boxing Day last year). There is also a link to his Christmas special which has a number of videos where he shows you how to make the recipes.

six items or less challenge

I came across this challenge through Unclutterer, and I think its very intriguing. It reminds me a bit of when I was backpacking across Europe last spring. Although my clothes did get kind of stinky due to the lack of laundry facilities at times it was actually incredibly freeing to not have to think or worry very much about what you were wearing. Due to the climate where I live in Ottawa, Canada I think this would probably only be possible in the dead of winter or in the extreme heat of summer, since our spring and fall weather can be incredibly bi-polar. None the less it does make me think hard about the kind of clothing I have, and the kind of clothing I buy. In the past when I have done shorter contracts in an office I have gotten VERY creative with my office wear since I wasn't sure when the next time I would need it would be, and didn't want to spend very much money on very many office items. This time however seeing as I have recently started a new job I would probably want to wait and make a good first impression before embarking on something like this. Six Items or less challenge

Living Climate Change

I came across this via www.dare.co.uk/, it definitely shows how we can all play a part  to make a difference. Being a recent graduate of a design program I find this one particularly intriguing.

Writing on the wall

Along with a chalkboard wall, I think this would be awesome to have somewhere in your house. It's a type of paint that makes your wall into a giant whiteboard.

Yogi Tea

Currently Loving:

Some love it, some hate it. Personally I could drink it all day. I love it sweetened with honey.
